The agent is not the bank.
The bank is the bank.

PT Arranet Indonesia Sejahtera builds and runs the technology and the agent network that puts banking transactions inside ordinary shops — bill payment switching, front-end systems for outlets, and the day-to-day management of a distribution network.

The sentence at the top is the one that matters to everybody involved. An agent serves customers on a bank's behalf; the money and the obligation sit with the bank. Understanding that protects the customer at the counter and the shopkeeper behind it, and most of this page follows from it.

For shop owners

What an agent is

  • A shop that serves bank customersDeposits, withdrawals, transfers and bill payments handled at a counter people already visit, under a bank's arrangements.
  • Paid per transactionIncome comes from the volume that actually passes through, shared on agreed terms. Small amounts, many times.
  • Useful where a branch is far awayThe point of the model is reach: a counter in a village is worth more to that village than a branch two hours away.
And equally

What an agent is not

  • Not a bank branchAn agent does not open accounts on its own authority, does not decide anything, and does not hold your money. The bank does.
  • Not a franchise you buyThis is a transaction-based arrangement. It is not a package sold for a large upfront payment, and any offer shaped that way deserves hard questions.
  • Not an investmentNo returns are promised to anybody, by us or by any agent. Income depends on transactions that actually happen in that shop.
If you are being recruited as an agent

Four questions before you pay anyone anything

  • Which bank is behind this, exactly?Name the licensed institution, then verify directly with that bank that the recruiter is authorised. Do not verify using a number the recruiter gave you.
  • What am I being asked to pay, and for what?Equipment and float are ordinary. A large fee for "rights", "territory" or a "package" is not the shape of an agent arrangement — it is the shape of something else.
  • How and when am I paid?Per transaction, on what terms, settled how often. Get it in writing before the first customer walks in, not afterwards.
  • What happens if a transaction fails?Who bears it, who fixes it, and how long it takes. This is the question that decides whether the arrangement is survivable on a bad day.
If you are the customer at the counter

Five rules that never change

  • Never tell anyone your PINNot the agent, not a caller, not anyone in uniform. Enter it yourself or do not proceed.
  • Never hand over a one-time codeA code sent to your phone exists to stop somebody else acting as you. Reading it aloud defeats the only thing protecting you.
  • Always get the receiptPrinted slip or the confirmation message from the bank. No confirmation means the transaction is not finished, whatever you are told.
  • Check the amount before you leaveOn the screen and on the confirmation. Disputes are straightforward on the day and difficult a week later.
  • Complain to the bank, not only the shopThe bank carries the obligation. If something goes wrong at a counter, the bank's own channel is where it gets resolved.
Context

Branchless banking, since 2014

Agent-based financial services were introduced in Indonesia to extend banking beyond branch networks, supervised within the country's financial services framework.

The bank remains the licensed party throughout. A network manager like this company builds the technology and manages the agents; it does not itself hold deposits or issue accounts.

Questions

Asked regularly

i.Do you hold customer money?

No. We are a technology and network company. Funds, accounts and the obligations attached to them sit with the licensed bank, and a customer's relationship is with that bank even when the transaction happens across a shop counter.

ii.Someone is selling agent packages using your name.

Verify before paying anything: contact us on the number published here, and contact the bank directly through its own published channels. Be extremely careful with any request for a large upfront payment or a transfer to a personal account. If money has already gone, report it and do not send more trying to recover it.

iii.How much can an agent earn?

It depends on the transactions that actually pass through that particular counter, and we will not publish a figure that would be wrong for nearly every shop reading it. Anyone promising a monthly income from agent work is describing something they cannot know.

iv.Is this an investment opportunity?

No. This company offers no investment, no scheme and no return to the public, and neither does agent participation. Revenue follows transactions. Any communication suggesting otherwise while using this company's name should be reported.

v.A transaction failed but money left the account.

Keep the receipt or the confirmation message, note the time, and raise it with the bank through its own channel as well as with the outlet. Pending and reversed transactions are a normal part of any payment system; what matters is that the record exists and that the bank is told promptly.

vi.How do partners and billers reach you?

Through the contact details on this page. Tell us what you are switching, the volumes involved and the channels you need to reach, and we will tell you plainly whether it is something this platform is suited to.
